What's the worst thing that happened but you still made it to the meeting?

no matter if you are tired,sick,worked late,heavy snow,or any other reason,you were never to miss the meetings.

i went to a 2 day assembly with 4 teeth pulled the day before.

my gums were bleeding all day but i still went to the assembly .there was a brother who was in a bad car accident the week before with his daughter in a coma.

He managed to give his talk at the same Assembly and left after his part to go back to the hospital. There was an Elder who's mother-in-law was buried in the morning. He made his wife attend the Book Study that same evening. What a moron!

Where there any cases where some members should not have been at the meeting but still managed to attend?

In my congregation which had only 56 publishers,there have been 6 divorces due to infidelity. Each one left very quickly after being caught. Now,none of them are paying child support. It seems funny when I read that "true Christians handle problems rather than run from them." Who writes this crap? The divorce rate at the Kingdom Halls are just about the same as"the modern world(non JWS). They are just better in hiding all the dirt. Why don't they ever address the issue of divorces in the ''TRUE CONGREGATION'' ?

what was the strangest/worst counsel you recieved from elders ?

having been in the organization for 30 years, after i got out i reflected on this.

as a teenager i was told to not let my hair grow over my ears because i might stumble other young ones in the congregation.

also, in order to carry the microphones i was told i couldn't wear white socks, had to wear black or dark blue socks.

The printing presses of the WTS stopped working...could they really preach?

we know that the whole objective of the preaching work is to place( sell ) magazines and books.

the labor is free from the warehouse to the distribution at the door.

they preach today's bad news and topics from the bible.

We know that the whole objective of the preaching work is to place( sell ) magazines and books. The labor is free from the warehouse to the distribution at the door. They preach today's bad news and topics from the Bible. But, when they finish some printed material is always introduced. If the printing of reading material stopped,what would the preaching sound like? Aren't they really lost without them offering reading material? Do they really know anything besides introductions?

My Uncle is still Pioneering at 84 years old and will never see the end!

my uncle is still an elder and pioneering at the age of 84. he started studying with the witnesses in the early 1960's and was made an elder a couple of years later.

he has auxilary pioneered for the last 40 years.

today, he is elderly,fragile,has heart problems,can't hardly walk,and he still continues to auxilary pioneer.

My Uncle is still an Elder and pioneering at the age of 84. He started studying with the Witnesses in the early 1960's and was made an Elder a couple of years later. He has auxilary pioneered for the last 40 years. Today, he is elderly,fragile,has heart problems,can't hardly walk,and he still continues to auxilary pioneer. Going to the meetings has been his only passion. But,it saddens me that he will never see the end. The WTS has lied from their beginning and continues to lie today just for the sake of keeping their business going. What a waste of time for my Uncle who could of done something better with his life!

Why the so formal attire?

having visited various churches i have seen that many of their members are casually dressed while worshipping.

the contrast with the jws is great, why do they always have to be formally dressed in their suits and anyone wishing to dress casually is frowned upon?

it goes to show how pharisaic and controlling the cult is.

I quit attending the "Book Study" about 18 years ago. We had the hottest summer ever where it was 105 degrees that day. We had a "Book Study" at my Uncle's house who didn't turn on his central air conditioner(He was too cheap to turn it on). It must of been around 100 degrees inside with no air to breath. They let us take our suit jackets off but we still had long sleeve shirts and ties on. One sister passed out and she had to be taken outside because it was cooler outside than inside.

That's why I no longer attend.

The WTS want to show that they are different than other religions. They want control over their members. They want neighbors near the KINGDUMB HALLS to see that they look and act different. ( I guess wearing a suit makes you look more honest )

I see people walking into other Church's with sandals,shorts,short dresses,hats,gym shoes and other attire that is not appropriate for church. The WTS always take things too far. Nice slacks,dress shoes,and collared shirts are appropriate. Pants suits for woman are also fine .

About 20 years ago,you didn't need to dress up for the BOOK STUDY. Then the WTS said that the''NEIGHBORS'' near the KINGDUMB HALLS and private homes would notice that the Witnesses weren't dressed properly.(like they really noticed and cared).

The WTS want control in little and big matters so no questions will be asked.

Why does the WTS insist everyone sign up for the Ministerial School ?

i took drama in high school just to get over the fear of being in front of people and speaking.

I never enjoyed giving # 2 talks. I never enjoyed being at a podium and speaking. I took Drama in High School just to get over the fear of being in front of people and speaking. There were times I missed school because I had to get in front of the class and do a presentation. I will never get over the fear of public speaking.

Why does the WTS insist that every member sign up for the school? There were members in my congregation that couldn't read after so many years of giving talks. Why didn't they just take them off the school? It was so painful listening to some members who couldn't read. And,I'm sure they didn't like being up there.

And how come some Elder's wives would not sign up for the school but the Elder's insisted on others to sign up?

Attended Memorial Service, disgusted...

out of loyalty to a friend that died i went to his memorial service today.

get this, in 30 minutes of service his name was said 3 times.

I refuse to go to Memorial Sevices. The last one I attended was an Elders wife who died of cancer. THEY HAD NO WAKE FOR HER. She was cremated and only the immediate family attended. I went to the Memorial Service out of respect for the family.

I drove over an hour to get to the Kingdom Hall. They had a picture of her by the front entrance.( Why couldn't they put her picture on the stage?) The talk was not about where she was born,what she did for a living,what she enjoyed doing,when she had kids and how she suffered in her last days. The talk was about how she was a pioneer and that we should learn from her. The thing that disgusted me was how the Elder looked out into the audience and started talking about how he sees faces that no longer attend the meetings. He went on and on about how they should all come back to the meetings. Well,after that,I will no longer attend the sales meetings.
